An artificial arrangement fails for one of two reasons: it was stored crushed, or it was never cleaned. Both are avoidable in under an hour a year.
Cleaning
A hairdryer on its coolest setting, held thirty centimetres back, removes ninety percent of settled dust. For the remainder, a soft brush and patience.
Never use water on silk. Never use any solvent on latex.
Storage
- Store upright, never stacked
- Keep out of direct sunlight even indoors
- Rigid boxes, not bags
- Silica sachets in humid climates
“A bloom that is cleaned and boxed properly will see its fifth event looking like its first.”
